How to Develop an Informative Essay?

Writing an informative essay can be an interesting task if you do it with all your passion. Although it involves extensive research and analysis, it becomes much easier if you choose an interesting topic. However the success of an informative essay is highly dependent on how you will expand it in the body part and tie up the information in the most suitable way by writing a perfect conclusion. This article will inform you about some interesting tips on how to develop an informative essay that can best present your information to the readers:

•    Firstly, you have to choose a topic unless otherwise specified by your teacher. Pick something that really inspires you to write on. If you discuss your choice of idea, then it will be much easier for you to finish your essay than writing about something you do not relate with. Besides, you will not have to go through each and every source to find relevant information.

•    Secondly, you must first create an organisational statement. Unlike a thesis statement, an organisational statement gives a layout of what you will discuss in your essay. For example, if you want to write about “how first cell phone was invented”, you can say, “The invention of Cellular Phone is credited with the discovery  of ‘Frequency Hopping’ method, first discussed in the book of Jonathan Zenneck’s book ‘Telegraphy’ 1908. From then on, many other people proposed this idea till it was finally patented to Hedy Lamarr.” Afterwards, build your essay upon this statement.

•    Begin your essay by writing an intriguing introductory paragraph. Start by giving an interesting fact about the topic that might appeal to the readers. This should tell your readers about a surprising fact. For example, “The most interesting fact regarding Frequency Hopping is that it was not invented by any scientist or technologist but a Hollywood actress, namely Hedy Lamarr.” In addition, the introduction should give an overview of what you will be discussing in the subsequent paragraphs of your essay.

•    Now construct the body part. Here you will elaborate on the ideas stated in the introduction. But you must keep an organisational order while expanding them in the body part. Considering the organisational statement, expand the points gradually towards the conclusion. For example, “The term ‘Frequency Hopping’ can be traced back to Jonathan Zenneck’s book ‘Telegraphy’ 1908, who proposed this idea first among all.”

•    Finally, give your last thoughts about the topic in the conclusion. Here you will summarise all your points in a concise way. Wrap your essay by summing it up all, such as “While Frequency Hopping has transformed the way we communicate, there are still more areas to explore in the human communication methods that can further improve our life.”

•    Having finished your essay, do not forget to edit it. Check it for any grammatical, spelling or logical errors and proofread them.
