Before I tell you how to write a narrative essay, you must prepare yourself and really believe that you can write a good narrative essay. Once you have this kind of attitude, nobody can stop you from writing an effective and strong essay. So, without further delay, let me tell you about the things that you will need to write a really good narrative essay:
I. Before you even start thinking of the narrative essay, you have got to find out the main purpose of the essay. The reason as to why it is so important to know this is because this is what will help you figure out what the topic is. Keep in mind that this is important as without this step you will never be able to understand the purpose and if you don’t, then how will your reader?
II. Once you have figured out the above step, you will have to understand the importance of your essay. Put into simple words, you need the reader to clearly understand the one objective behind your topic. You cannot grab a lot of different sides and expect the audience to understand, right?
III. Your narrative essay is going to be an utter failure until and unless it doesn’t have some really good supporting points. Because you are writing a narrative essay, you need to have supporting events that are in-line with your main point. Make sure you have at least a couple of these as they will help you get your message across.
IV. You must make certain that your points follow a chronological order. What this means here is that the points need to be in an order in which they happened and not vice versa. The main goal behind this is because it will help your audience understands better and clearer. It will also help you with the flow and increase your expertise.
V. Once you have done all that is mentioned above, it is now time for you to formulate the thesis statement. I can understand that many of you must dread this part but if you have gone through the above steps smoothly, and then you have nothing to worry about. In the simplest form, the thesis is something which clearly defines the objective of your essay.
VI. Now that you have done all that, start writing your paper. If you are comfortable with it, write the body in the beginning and the introduction and conclusion in the end. Why this is suggested is because with the main body out of the way, you will get a chance to concentrate on your beginning and ending.
